This public speaking course is designed to demystify the process of writing, practicing, and performing a clear and engaging speech. We aim to help each student improve the quality of their speeches and the confidence with which they present them. Upon successfully completing this course, students should be able to:
  • Design and deliver basic presentations concisely
  • Design and deliver informative presentations clearly
  • Design and deliver complex arguments persuasively
  • Speak confidently with appropriate rate, projection, movement, and vocal variety
  • Evaluate and critique speeches insightfully

Level A: Grade 1-3

Level B: Grade 4-8

Logistics: Small class sizes of 4-8 students

SUMMARY

Public speaking for kids allows them to get hands-on experience in presenting. Students learn by doing, which helps them apply the material they learn in class. Instead of just hearing and forgetting information, kids practice the theories learned in class. Parents, we will teach your child to become a better, more confident speaker.

OBJECTIVES

This Public Speaking class allows kids to gain hands-on experience in presenting. They participate in real-time debate classes and public speaking workshops. Our experience has shown that presenting and debating exercises best develop, stretch, and solidify a child’s understanding and grow their abilities.

COURSE DETAILS

They will learn: Articulation, Critical Thinking, Organization Skills, Techniques to Overcome Anxiety, Voice Projection, and Vocal Variety. We teach kids to understand the fundamentals of argumentation, research evidence, prepare debate cases, deliver speeches, and refute opponents. Kids will develop core debating skills that boost confidence and self-esteem.
